Ford has released the updates for the 2013 model-year Ford Mustang. Making its official debut at the 2011 LA Auto Show, the revised 2013 Mustang gets a more aggressive look accentuated by a more prominent grille, new hood with functional heat extractors and LED lighting. The revised rear-end gets a high-gloss black panel that connects the taillights, which now have a smoked appearance.
The interior also gets some updates. Buyers can now opt for a leather-trim or cloth Recaro seats, available on both V6 and GT models. The biggest change inside, however, is the new 4.2-inch LCD screen that is controlled via a steering-wheel mounted five-way button.
In regards to powertrain updates, the 5.0-liter V8 found in the Mustang GT now makes 420 horsepower, up from 402HP. The new options list now includes a new SelectShift six-speed auto transmission that allows the driver to shift gears manually via a button on the side of the shifter.
Also available is a new GT Track Package for manual-transmission GT models. The package adds an engine cooler, upgraded radiator, performance friction brake pads and the same Torsen differential found in Mustang Boss 302.
The 2013 Ford Mustang will go on sale in spring 2012.
