Mazda has revealed a special edition version of the 2012 MX-5 Miata for North America. Making its official debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, the 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition features a variety of cosmetic updates and more standard features. Only 450 units will be made.
Outside, the MX-5 Miata Special Edition sports a black-only hard top, two new exterior colors (Crystal White or Velocity Red), new 17-inch black gunmetal alloy wheels and black exterior accents. Inside, it gets heated black leather seats with accent stitching, piano black interior finishes and alloy pedals.
Based on the Miata Grand Touring model, the special edition MX-5 Miata can be had with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Both Premium and Suspension packages will come standard, offering such features as Bluetooth, Sirius Satellite Radio, Bilstein shocks and a sport-tuned suspension.
