Mazda has released Canadian pricing details for its new CX-5 crossover, which will replace the dated Tribute. Prices start at $22,995 for the base, front-wheel drive GX model, which comes optional with a $1,495 Convenience Package that adds 17″ Alloy wheels, privacy glass, Bluetooth w/ audio profile, Steering wheel controls for Bluetooth, 5.8″ Colour display screen, and HD radio.
One trim higher is the CX-5 GT AWD, which has a starting price of $32,495. The GT AWD comes optional with a $1,395 Technology Package that adds such features as HID headlights, Adaptive Front Lighting System, auto headlamp leveling, navi, and SIRIUS® Satellite radio.
The CX-5 is offered with only one powerplant, Mazda’s new, fuel-efficient SKYACTIV 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine that produces 155 horsepower and 150lb/ft. of torque. Manual-equipped models with a FWD setup get a fuel-economy rating of 7.8 L/100km in the city and 5.7 L/100km on the highway, while AWD models with an automatic transmission get 8.0L city and 6.4L/100km highway.
