Here is a spy photo (click to make larger) of the next-generation Maserati Quattroporte with what looks like the new Dodge Charger’s interior. We all knew that the alliance between Fiat and Chrysler entailed the sharing of technologies, but what we didn’t expect was badge engineering. That interior looks identical to the one found in the Charger.
Given the different market positioning of Maserati and Dodge — the former is a lot more prestigious than the latter — carbon copying, especially from the relatively lowly Dodge, won’t sit well with buyers and enthusiasts alike. Let’s just hope that the interior we see here is just a mule and not what we would get in the next Quattroporte.
Maserati better do a masterful job at concealing any signs of sharing with the Chrysler family.
