Infiniti LE Concept Revealed, Pictures and Details [Video]

Infiniti LE Concept

Making its world debut at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the Infiniti LE Concept is an all-electric, four-door family sedan technologically related to the Nissan Leaf EV.

“As a ‘production intent’ concept, most of what you see in the LE Concept will become a reality, including its zero emission powertrain, advanced telematics, cutting-edge design, advanced connected services and premium appointments,” said Infiniti Americas Vice President Ben Poore.

Judging by the exterior and interior designs of the LE Concept, Infiniti went out of its way to ensure that people knew they were looking at an electric car, or at least something very different from any other car on the road. Essentially the luxury version of the Leaf, the sedan is the same size as its lower-brethren and measures 186.4 inches long, 71.1 inches wide and 58.5 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 106.3 inches.

The LE Concept is motivated by an all-electric powertrain that combines an electric motor and a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack to produce 134 horsepower (100 kW / 136 PS) and 240 lb-ft (325 Nm) of torque. According to Infiniti, the system offers “exceptional acceleration” and a driving range of approximately 100 miles (161 km) on a full charge. Once the battery runs dry, the car can be recharged by an integrated charging port, a rapid charger or a wireless charging system.
