All-new 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS Debuts in China, Pictures and Details

2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS

The show floor at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show will be graced by the all-new 2013 Porsche Cayenne GTS high-performance SUV. More power, better performance and a brasher look — the second-generation Cayenne GTS is primed for action.

Although it adopts the hood and front fascia of the Cayenne Turbo, the Cayenne GTS is distinguished by its high-gloss black trim, prominent side skirts, wider wheel arches filled with standard 20-inch wheels and sport exhaust system with matte black twin tailpipes. Two new colors are available: Peridot Metallic and Carmine Red.

The interior features exclusive GTS eight-way adjustable front sports seats with Alcantara accents, while a Sound Symposer channels authentic engine intake sounds into the cabin. For the first time in the Cayenne, a new Sport Chrono package is now available to monitor the improved performance offered by the new GTS.

The Porsche Cayenne GTS is powered by an updated V8 engine making 420 horsepower (309 kW). With an eight-speed Tip-tronic S transmission with integrated auto start/stop function, the overpowered SUV is able to run from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) in just 5.7, to 99 mph (160 km/h) in 13.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 162 mph (261 km/h).

To improve driving dynamics, the chassis has been lowered by 24 mm, making the GTS ride lower than the Cayenne S. The suspension now features Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

The all-new Cayenne GTS will go on sale in July 2012 with prices starting at €90,774 in Germany and £67,147 in the UK. North American sales begin in August with a base price of $82,050 in the U.S., excluding the $975 delivery charge.
