We’ve obtained more details on the Bentley EXP 9 SUV Concept, which made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and its Asian debut at Beijing’s Auto China 2012. The British automaker has yet to confirm a production version of the concept, but it’s no secret that one is already on the drawing board, likely styled a lot differently from the polarizing EXP 9.
The latest details mainly concern the SUV’s powertrain. Bentley‘s flagship 6.0-liter W12 engine, which develops 600-hp (447 kW / 608 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, will be one of three possible powertrain options. The second option will likely be a 4.0-liter V8 unit, similar to the one found in the latest Continental. Finally, a new V6 plug-in hybrid model is being considered.
The hybrid model will be the first in the premium SUV segment. It can travel up to 19 miles (30 km) in pure electric driving mode and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in under 5 seconds.
