Not much else was revealed but Andy Palmer, executive vice president of Nissan and Infiniti’s Global Business Unit, added more credence to Motor Trend’s earlier report that Nissan‘s new partnership with Mercedes-Benz will result in four-cylinder engine for the next G Series. The powertrain technology will be shared with the next-gen C-Class.
Palmer also hinted at a turbocharged six cylinder engine that delivers V8 power but V6 fuel economy. There is also the possibility of G hybrid model, given that the Infiniti M Sedan already features a competent hybrid powertrain that can likely be applied to a smaller platform.
