Next Nissan Rogue Crossover Coming in 2013

Nissan Hi-Cross Concept

Nissan has confirmed a successor to its North American Rogue compact crossover for a 2013 calendar year. The Japanese automaker didn’t release any details, but we expect the car to be strongly inspired by the Nissan Hi-Cross Concept (as pictured here) that was unveiled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The Hi-Cross is a seven-seat crossover motivated by a hybrid drivetrain that couples an electric motor with a 2.0-litre direct injection petrol engine to provide the performance potential of a 2.5-litre but the fuel-economy and emissions of a much smaller engine.

Nissan also confirmed that the next Rogue will be built in the United States for the first time ever, rather than in Japan. It will be one of four new models to join the all-new Nissan Altima in the coming months.
