This is moment many of us have been waiting for — a comparison between the Cadillac CTS-V and the all-new 2013 BMW M5. In prior comparisons, it was the then relatively new CTS-V vs the rather old E60 M5, with the former actually coming out on top in several of the comparos. Things have reversed this time around with Cadillac’s performance sedan now being the much older vehicle.
The new M5 packs a 553-hp (560 PS) 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds with a 6-speed manual and 4.2 seconds with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, while the CTS-V packs the same ol’ 556-hp 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that allows for a 0 to 60 mph run on 3.9 seconds.
