New Fiat 500X Small Crossover Teased [w/Video]

Fiat 500X

While presenting the 500L MPV at a media conference in Turin, Italy, Fiat gave the unsuspecting audience a brief look at the upcoming Fiat 500X small crossover.

When it goes on sale in 2013, the 500X will be the fifth addition to the 500 lineup, which currently consists of the 500 subcompact hatchback, the 500C convertible, the performance-oriented Abarth versions and the 500L.

As the replacement for the Fiat Sedici, the crossover will be offered in both front wheel- and all-wheel-drive setups and will likely be offered with the Italian automaker’s 0.9-liter two-cylinder turbocharged TwinAir gasoline and 1.3-liter MultiJet turbo diesel.

The 500X’s architecture will also underpin a small Jeep crossover, one that will be smaller than the Compass and Patriot. This Jeep will hit dealerships in the second quarter of 2014.
