For what it is (a near-luxury compact car), the new Buick Verano is an impressive little machine. As the most powerful model in the lineup, the Verano Turbo gets an EPA fuel-economy rating of 20 miles per gallon city and 31 mpg highway for models equipped with the optional six-speed manual gearbox. All models come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Under the hood of this unassuming but fierce compact Buick is a 2.0 liter turbocharged Ecotec 4-cylinder making 250-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. With either the six-speed automatic or manual transmission, it goes from 0 to 60 mph in around 6.2 seconds.
Pricing details for the 2013 Buick Verano Turbo will be announced at a later date, as will EPA ratings for models with the automatic transmission.
