There were rumors last year that Nissan was developing a convertible version of its 2011 Murano CUV, and now we can confirm this is more than a rumor. Sources have told Insideline that Nissan is still working on this convertible and will likely release in time for summer 2010.

Unlike the normal Murano, this convertible version will only have two doors (i.e. a coupe CUV) and will have a retractable soft-top. It will likely be powered by a 3.5L V8 making 265-hp with front and all-wheel-drive.

Not that it’s a bad car or anything, but the latest Nissan Murano looks a bit weird to us. A two-door convertible version will likely look too weird. But you never know, it might prove us wrong when it releases later next year.
