Renault is slapping its new face on every model in its lineup, old or new. The latest model to go under the knife is the Renault Fluence Sedan, which will make its world debut at the 2012 Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey.
Surprisingly, the European Fluence gets the Renault’s new look, while the Mexican model shares its front end with the the Samsung SM3. Some exterior highlights include LED daytime running lights, revised rear tail lamp clusters and new alloy wheel options.
The interior is the same in all regions and, for the car’s 2013 model year, features new digital instruments, fresh upholsteries and a Bluetooth audio system with USB and jack sockets. Higher-trim models are available with Renault’s new R-Link multimedia system with a touchscreen display and voice commands.
Powertrain options include a new, more fuel-efficient 1.6-liter 115PS petrol engine mated to a new X-Tronic CVT automatic transmission, delivering 6.4 liters/100km in fuel economy and CO2 emissions of 149 g/km; a diesel dCi 110 PS EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) engine; and, in some markets, a Renault’s new 130 PS dCi engine that returns a fuel consumption of 5.6 liters/100km with CO2 emissions of 119g per km.
Sales of the 2013 Renault Fluence begin in January 2013, first in Turkey, and then in 55 other countries throughout the year.
