Pontiac G8 May Survive and Rebadged

Tom Stephens, GM vice chairperson of global product development, has confirmed our suspicions that the Pontiac G8 will live on under one of GM’s other brands. But there was still some uncertainty about its fate.
“I know there’s still discussions on it,” Stephens told Automotive News, “But Chevrolet already has several sedans. How many sedans do you need to cover the waterfront?”
The V8-powered, Australian-made Pontiac G8 is a great car that was launched into the U.S. at the worst possible time – when gas prices were sky high. Despite its dismal sales, it has seen an increase the past few months. We definitely don’t want to see it go.
