New Mercedes S-Class Gets Over 30,000 Orders in Less than 3 Months

The all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is without question the king of its class. Probably to one’s surprise, Daimler has received more than 30,000 orders for its large, ultra-luxurious executive sedan in just three months, beating expectations.

Most orders came from Germany, the S-Class’s home market, but neighboring European countries have also shown a special appreciation for the car. We imagine China’s elite are also going gaga over it, as well as their counterparts in the United States.

With Maybach dead, the S-Class has bigger shoes to fill than its predecessor. In the coming months, Mercedes-Benz will expand the model’s lineup to include a long wheelbase model, a coupe, a cabriolet and an extra-long, Maybach-replacing Pullman. Some will be available with plug-in hybrid powertrain, while others will get the AMG treatment.

The latest S-Class has a starting price of €72,000 in Europe and $92,900 in the U.S. You can get more details on the car by clicking here
