Following in the footsteps of GM, Ford has announced that it will offer $1,000 trade-in cash on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles to lure in Toyota (in including Lexus and Scion brands) owners that are facing recalls on sticking accelerator pedals. The Dearborn automaker goes a step further, making the offer eligible to Honda and Acura owners, as well.

“The offer is eligible to Acura, Honda, Toyota, Lexus and Scion owners,” Robert Parker, a Ford spokesman told Inside Line on Thursday.

Ford has not specified when this incentive program will end.

In comparison, GM’s program offers zero-percent financing for 60 months on most Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC models.
