Honda Fast-Tracking Updates to Improve Insight
Posted by: Kwame Owusu on 23 Jul 2009Filed under: Honda, Hybrids

After taking a thrashing from the likes of Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson and from Consumer Reports, the 2010 Honda Insight has been a sour spot in Honda’s pristine image. Moreover, sales of the hybrid, particularly in Japan, have started to greatly lag, leading Honda to reduce its sales forecasts. The Japanese automaker has heard the cries and has reportedly decided to fast-tracking upgrades to the Insight.
The Honda Insight has been touted as more sportier than the Toyota Prius; however, it lacks the overall refinement of its rival. The Prius is larger and has driving dynamics that are far superior to the Insight.
While improving the fuel-economy of the hybrid will remain the top priority for Honda’s engineers, modifications to the car’s chassis are needed.

I think the modification will be more important for most of their customers, although there are some demands of a new high-tech hybird engine
Well Honda is really one of the top car manufacturers at this point and they continue to improve their car's performance. Technology never really stops and the drive for car manufacturers to innovate cars doesn't stop either. I just hope they could create better but cheaper vehicles.
