GM Considering a Chevy Cruze Coupe

The Chevrolet Cruze is currently roaming the streets of Europe. However, in market that has liking to hatchbacks and wagons, the Cruze, which is currently only offered in a sedan version, is at a disadvantaged when paired against the likes of the VW Golf and Ford Focus, both which are available in hatchback trims. What’s GM to do? Well, the answer isn’t how obvious.
According to MotorTrend, GM is thinking about creating a four-door coupe based on the Cruze’s platform. In case you don’t know how a four-door coupe look like, just think of the Mercedes CLS or VW CC. The Xruze Coupe will share the same wheelbase and powertrains, but with a sleeker roof that would sacrifice some rear headroom. It would also be priced higher than the regular Cruze.
As exciting as that sound, maybe GM should consider a Cruze wagon and hatchback first — they sell in large volumes in Europe. In all fairness, GM did say it was considering several models. Hopefully, they consist of these models.
