Audi will reportedly go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA with a four-door coupe version of the next-generation A3.
Set to arrive sometime in 2019, the new model will join the A3 sedan and hatchback and, according to Auto Express, is expected to be stylistically-inspired by the larger A5 and A7 four-door coupes, as well as the TT Sportback concept (pictured) that was unveiled back in 2014.
Design highlights will include a sleeker roofline than the A3 sedan and a unique front fascia to set it apart from all A3 variants.
Like the current lineup, the next-generation A3 will be based on Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform, though it will grow in size to offer occupants and their cargo more room. The A3 e-tron plug-in hybrid will be upgraded and possibly spawn a fully-electric version.
