Pontiac is Officially Dead

In the upheaval that swallowed up GM, there were bound to be some casualties. Unfortunately, Pontiac was one of those casualties. With a notification in April that the brand would be terminated, GM built its last Pontiac, a G6 sedan, at around 12:45pm yesterday. As you can imagine, there were no celebrations. In fact, the only people allowed in the facility were a group of “final process” workers to oversee the last 100 G6 models assembled.
Pontiac was 82 years old, and like many brand that have met this fate, it had it’s ups and downs. Just when it showed signs of life with the G8 sedan and the Solstice sports coupe, the brand was snuffed out. But it had to be done. RIP Pontiac.
