Despite taking a big hit to its reputation — thanks to its recall woes — Toyota has made it on Fortune’s annual list of the World’s Most Admired Companies. Ranking in at number seven, the Japanese automaker ranked higher than BMW, Honda and Volkswagen. But it’s not all roses: voting ended and results were compiled before Toyota’s recalls and troubles with the law. Although fair, we think Fortune should have made an exception in Toyota’s case.

It is clear that Japanese automaker has lost its touch, so including the company on the list is misleading in light of the fact that it’s recalls happened — to exaggerate a bit — just last week. Fortune should consider making an adjustment for the time horizon of its tallies to deal with instances like this one.

So you know what we think, but let us know what you think. Does Toyota deserves to be on the list?

NO!, not even in the top 100, they are lying, deceitful cheats.

I’m all for the Goverment keeping a close eye on car manufacturer, however I don’t recall such fierceness on any other automaker. I don’t recall any other automaker selling in USA and Canada being subjeted to fines. Anyway as far as making fortune’s or JD power’s list I figure if VW and Ford can be on that lsit well anybody else can.

  3. Despite the recall, we can not discount the fact that toyota made real good cars over the years. I just hope they fix it and get it right.
