With GM’s current Chevy Aveo selling very poorly in India, the company badly needs a replacement. GM is planning to phase out its mediocre subcompact. At the same time, it plans to introduce the bolder, more attractive and more fuel-efficient next generation Aveo into the market next year, likely as a replacement for the current Aveo.

That means that the existing Aveo will not receive any further upgrades or new powertrains this year.
