Ford has decided that the growing demand for crossovers in China cannot be ignored. As such, it will start exporting its Canadian-built 2011 Ford Edge to the Middle Kingdom. The model will be on sale by the end of the year and is currently the only North American Ford model that will be exported to the country. But given China’s rabidly growing market, the American automaker is considering other models as well.
“We have talked about the opportunity for other nameplates,” said Ford Motor China Vice President Nigel Harris. “We’re looking at other niche vehicles we could bring here to supplement the lineup.”
