All the teasing has ended with the official reveal of the 2013 Infiniti JX concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. When it launches in Spring 2012, the JX will be Infiniti’s new three-row, seven passenger crossover. Although it features a few bold elements (i.e. the front fascia), the overall design is rather conservative, likely in effort to appeal to a wider audience.
The JX will be powered by a V6 mated to a CVT transmission. Power can transfer to either the front or all the wheels. But large crossovers aren’t really know for their power output — where the Infiniti JX will likely excel is in the luxury and safety department. Its luxury features will include a Personal Assistant program, which provides access to 24-hour team of representatives similar to OnStar, 14-speaker Bose stereo system and Infiniti Connection Telematics. Safety features will include the Japanese automaker Blind Spot Intervention and a new Backup Collision Intervention systems.
Although designated as concept, the Infinti JX featured here looks production ready. The actual production version will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
