The first month of the new year is finally over. It’s time we name the top t0 best selling vehicles for the period. Not surprisingly, Toyota’s recall fiasco did a number on its sales. This is made evident by the fact that the Camry wasn’t the best selling car on the list — the Accord took that honor, with even the Nissan Altima beating the Camry.

As usual, the Ford F Series trucks took the top spot, followed by the Chevy Silverado. Make the jump for the complete list.

4. Nissan Altima: 18,636

A noteworthy point is that aside from the two trucks in the top spots, all the other vehicles on the list are sedans. The Honda CRV and Ford Focus are missing in action this time around.

Top 10 Best Selling Cars in America – 2009

U.S. vehicle sales for 2009 were released earlier this week. Despite the public bashing of trucks, a certain Truck still reigned supreme. In fact, most of the usual suspects made the list. The only surprise is probably the number 7 spot Honda CRV, which suggests that Americans are just not ready to give up on their SUVs – however, they are willing to downsize. But more surprising its the Ford Fusion, which shot all the way up to the number 10 spot from the 17th spot in 2008.

The rest of the list is not surprising. In fact, to make things a bit more interesting, we also added the next 10 best selling vehicles. Make the jump for the complete list.

Top 10 Best Selling Brands in America – 2009

Despite the beating taken by the automotive industry in 2009, there wasn’t a major reshuffling in the rankings of the top selling brands. Toyota still reigns king, with Ford, Chevrolet and Honda following in second, third and forth place, respectively. Find out which other brands made the list by checking the graph below.
