Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson hates a lot of cars, especially American and uninspired cars. He generally shows a bit of a positive bias when it comes to European cars. So it’s not quite often you see him bashing such cars. But then came along the latest BMW X1, a car that we think looks funky. But apparently the biggest issue with the X1 is that it shouldn’t have been built. That is, it serves no good purpose. No need to persuade Jeremy on that.

Jeremy really doesn’t like new X1. Firstly, he hates the way it looks, saying that it looks like a Hyundai (in other words, cheap). Secondly, he hates the way it rides, saying that the seats are so rough that they can be used to shape diamonds. Thirdly, he hates the interior and especially the sDrive feature, which he claims is a waste of space. Finally, he hates the diesel motor, saying that it sounds like a dump truck when you start it up. To him, this Bimmer is just rubbish.

Jeremy Clarkson Hates the Honda Insight – it’s "Biblically Terrible"

It feels good when someone of “higher authority” confirms your deepest suspecions about the quality of a car. Top Gear’s foul-mouthed Jeremy Clarkson, in his latest review, called the Honda Insight biblically terrible. Although I don’t think Honda’s latest hybrid is terrible, I do think buyers will be better off with the slightly more expensive 2010 Toyota Prius.

I have not yet driven the 2010 Honda Insight, but from the many reviews I have read, I can make out that the car is less refined and harsher-riding than the Prius. And I don’t think the slight price advantage of Honda’s hybrid is enough to justify its unrefinement. Jeremy Clarkson communicates my opinion more elequently, albeit in a much harsher tone.
